Hi @2stein , Just for my info. Would I need to manually download the py and xml files from the github and then copy it to the appropriate area on enigma2 or is there a hidden IPK file somewhere that I can grab that will install it and integrate it?

i would assume that the ipk is on openpli's plugin feed. to test it i would install an openpli image and install the plugin.
if you are happy with it, you could download the ipk with opkg download enigma2-plugin-extensions-partnerbox and we then install it and test whether it works on openvix.

Did that. Sadly I got an error telling me of a "bad magic number" on the plugin page which I am led to believe means its for a different version of python. Which is odd because the IPK was downloaded from the latest build of OpenPli (9.2) from march 2026. I guess the partnerbox was never updated and assume it is "a dodo". Sad because it looks like it had the elusive "remote EPG" that I was looking to explore.

What is odder is that it works in OpenPLI 9.2 and its python version is 3.9.9 and VIX is 3.13.11 so looks like PLI is somewhat behind VIX. Maybe when PLI gets to 3.13.11 and the plugin is updated it will work?

Ah well, Nothing ventured and all that.

I can't actually test it on PLI as I would need to have PLI on both boxes simultaneously and one box is not for "playing" as it is used every day so I can't flash PLI on it and test without facing wrath from the family :-(

I could, if it launched on VIX, test it on the live openVIX on that box with either PLI or VIX on the client box but at this point I cannot say for certain if it will do what I want. I did see in the plugin on PLI various entries for "remote EPG" and "Remote Timers" and "Autotimers" and was going to give it some serious testing if I could install it and it worked on VIX.

I don't want you to go to massive effort to get it working on VIX as I cannot put my hand on my heart and say, 100%, it would be useful. What I can say is that if it can be made to work on VIX then I will put in the time and effort to test the capabilities and report back.

Ah. OK. I will install the IPK and replace any pyc files with the py files from the github and try again.

After deleting the pyc files and adding the py files don't forget to reboot

btw. pli partnerbox on the client should work with an openvix server box. the communication between them is done thru web interface.

Cheers @2stein. I may have downloaded them bad from the Git. I reight clicked and said "Save As" but I seem to remember somewhere that I needed to do a trick with binary mode so I will have another look tonight and download them fresh.

@Huevos - can you remind me the correct way to download them from the git and any other things i need to do to them prior to transferring with Winscp ? I am being a bit dim!!
