My box will no longer connect to my mobile hotspot. I have changed phones. The phone hotspot is 2.4GHz and 5GHz. I'm using an Octagon 300 mbps dongle bought from WOS shop.
On all USB sockets the WLAN connection shows a green tick in Network - Device. Blue indicator on dongle is flashing.
In the network settings:
Scan and the wireless network is shown. Signal -64 max bit rate 144.
Correct network and password. Other devices connect quite happily.
Network state has nothing.
Network test - everything is green except Wireless network which is disconnected and in red. There is no obvious way to activate the "Show info" to the right - unless it is just the adapter settings.
I'm on OV 6.8.006.
I don't have a LAN to connect to.
If the dongle is duff, this is the second one to pack up.

Try temporarily disabling 5G on the router while establishing a connection. I've found that on my network some home smart devices that are only 2.4G wi-fi and have problems initially connecting if 5G wi-fi from the router is still active. Once they have established connection on 2.4G they don't seem to have any trouble of a wi-fi system with 2.4 and 5G enabled, even after a mains power removal and they have to make contact again.

Have you set a option on your router to "Do not allow any new wireless devices" rather than "Allow all new wireless devices" (assuming your router has something similar)?

Thanks. I'm using a mobile phone hotspot.
