Update Bug!

If it has been discovered that there is a bug in the latest online update that is causing boxes to crash why has the update not been taken down?

Only bloody updated an hour a go, obviously before reading on here about the problems

What causes the problem? Just pressing up/down arrow to load the bouquets to choose a different channel? If so, I've done the latest updates, and haven't had any problems :s

Only other thing I can think is that it's only been pushed out for us beta testers :s Andy not available at the mo to check tho ...

Yep. Just changing channel for me.

Pleased I imaged before I ran the update - good habit! Only missed Modern Family recording :/

I did the software update yesterday afternoon & got the bug. Every channel change would cause the box to green screen.
only happens with default vix & magic skins, so using another skin for now sorts the problem out for me.

just tried to do a software update now & it's not finding any updates to be done.

What skin have you got working judge i have tried 5 different skins and get a green screen on all of them

Because if you hadn't noticed we've had other issues to deal with such as a server move etc..!

Sorry if you've been inconvenienced with this FREE HOBBY! The ViX Team don't get paid to give you images, its a hobby! A fix will be uploaded soon. In the meantime just re-flash and dont update.

I do understand that no one gets paid & the image is for free but it was you, yourself that posted there was a bug in the update & a fix would be uploaded. I & others obviously updated (although i hadnt read any posts before doing this) before this & people continued to update after whilst the buggy update was left online. Thankfully it is very easy to get the stb back working for some people. What i cant understand is this seemed quite a big update & you have beta testers! but then again we are all beta testers. Nothing personal & i respect you for what you have achieved here but i'm not like some of the people on this board that are so far up your arse it's laughable i say what i think & can back that up in real life, unlike thier fantasy life they live online.

your not the only one pal. but hows about you lay off the daft comments and go for a cuppa to cool down ?.

sic has had a right nightmare getting the server move completed plus with all the down time last week, you can maybe understand his position. any more daft comments and i'll close this thread.

you are choosing to use one of the best if not the best free images out there.
with any free project like this, you should expect occasional bugs & respect the developers time in fixing them.
as the developers are aware of this bug, and yes, I agree it's a serious bug, I'm sure the updates will reach us soon.
calm down, use a different image or just wait for an update & respect the time & development that has gone into this image.
either that or go back to the original image for your box and see what you are missing...

BUG has been found and Fixed

it was a script error that was not updating online feeds correctly

please update your boxes in half hour or so

i'd say as its late now update in the morning although feeds will be up in half hour to 1 hour or so

Personally I dont see what the big deal is I always do a backup before I update so if something goes wrong its a 2 minute job to reflash; as the saying goes "Shit happens" at times

thats because u updated too early

updates went up at 1.30 i did say leave it half hour to an hour which means that if a glitch happens add half hour more lol
