ViX Team Vu+ Duo Image v2.3 - 19/11/2011

So far I have no luck in restoring my timers. After FTP'ing the backup file to the etc/enigma2 directory I check the contents, everything is OK. But after a GUI restart the timers.xml file is empty. Editing the file on the HD results in the same situation. Something I do wrong?
Indeed you did something wrong:
when Enigma2 is alive, most data is in live-memory. These data will be written (= saved) when E2 shuts down. You have seen the example: change whatever you want, but E2 overwrites that when restarting.

The proper way to edit files live on the box, is to stop E2 first (via the telnet command "init 4"), then do your editing, and finish with restarting E2 (via the telnet command "init 3").

I'm pretty sure you will never forget this!
Good luck and please report back if/when you succeeded.

Hi,
Yes, I will install the new image ViX-2.3. Presently I have installed image ViX-2.2.100.
If I will to install the new image ViX-2.3 to my Vu+Duo, I have to:
First – flash the new bootloader “duo_cfe_3_0_usb.zip” via USB like an image. Is this actually a new bootloader?
Second – flash the new image ViX-2.3.GM-vuduo_usb.zip.

Thanks for new image.

Yes it is the new bootloader; it allows to flash larger images.
Flashing the bootloader is exactly the same as flashing an image; but take care that only the bootloader is on you USB-stick, and after flashing the bootloader only the image files are on it.

Thank you, the solution was there. First time I ever needed to do something in that setup.

The morning hours must be making me blind, but where can i download cccam?

And whats the recommended way of installing the driver for Hauppauge NovatUSB-T stick?

we dont provide CCcam in the ViX feeds but you can download it here
Code:
http://www.4shared.com/dir/wnyHV50A/VIX_CAMS.html
for manual installation.

Strange one here:
I have lost Volume control ?? it was working fine last night got up this morning and it doesnt work at all unless I use the default skin.
Have reloaded my backup settings from last night and still no volume control at all. Also been through every setting I can find.
Any Ideas

first thanks guy's terrific image.

i got my replacement tv only yesterday my beloved Pioneer plasma started to bite the dust, so under the warranty i've got a Pana "50" VT30 ( Pioneer dont do TV's no more)

i love the "night" skin the day skin had become a bit tired.

now the problems, because as i say i've got a new tv, i cannot get the OSD to work so i've had to turn off overscan on the TV.

and as on 2.2.100 when accessing the settings on the EPG it crashing my box.

regards: canthackit

can you either submit the carshlogs to us via the box or upload them here so we can have a look ?

Copying & pasteing the URL to Firefox 8.0 does not seem to work here.

In power manager, there used to be a time the box would turn off at.
Now in VIX 2.3 I can't see any time? what time will the box go into standby?

Blue button > ViX > Power Manager > Enable Power Manager > Set standby or Deep standby time you like.
