Since about Apollo 032 I find that every time Auto bouquet maker tries to update it crashes VIX. Sent loads of crash reports in.

Try setting up your ABM providers again.

I tried doing everything fresh on 035, e.g. not restoring old settings and setting everything up from scratch but it was still doing it.
Also did the up date to 037 last night and still happening.
The progress bar indicates that it is nearly finished when the crash happens.

To add to previous, I have ABM set to update the EPG daily and update the bouquets weekly and it is on the weekly update or a manual scan that the crash occurs.

Go to the providers setting in ABM and firstly select no providers and then hit save. Now go back in and select your provider and then save again, this should work!!

ABM does not do EPG.

If you follow Mcquaims advice above, you should be fine. I must stress the importance of saving after selecting no providers. If you just exit, changes won't be made.

If you still have a problem, please upload your crashlog. Thanks.

I think I had essentially done the same thing as 'select no providers and then hit save' in doing a fresh install of 035, as in, I set everything up manually and not let old settings be restored but I have just done a fresh install of 037 and it seems OK so far, all I did after initial set-up was get ABM running then install Malimali settings (then set up ABM again as installing malimali had removed it) and Cccam and 3 updates of ABM have run without problem.
Is there any way to back-up 'timers' that have been set when doing things like this, without having to back everything else up?

To backup timers and autotimers you should first place enigma into sleep mode using the init 4 command via a telnet session. Then FTP into the /etc/enigma2/ directory and copy the timers.xml / autotimers.xml files. Do the same when copying them back to the image then use the init 3 command to wake enigma.

Thanks, I tried various searches using some or all of the words from: "init 4 command via a telnet session" but haven't found anything that tells me how to do that, just a lot of posts that contain similar phrases but I put the box in standby from the remote and had a look in the specified directory with filezilla and found a timers.xml file so copied that off.

I have telnet lite app on my iPhone, configure it by inputting your box IP address then connect, it will ask you to log in, type root. Now you can type init 4 and press enter, copy your files, then type init 3 and press enter and enigma 2 will restart, this is the only way to download or upload critical files without corrupting them, I even do it with my bouquets.

Have a look at this post. There are two screenshots showing you what to do. The 2nd picture shows "opkg update", put you use the command you want to.
