Hi guys
Is there any up to date guide on the autotimers and how they work

The file that is used/edited resides in /etc/enigma2/ It is kept in RAM, so manual adjustments must be done while E2 is stopped. Auto timers are polled regularly and the details are added to timers.xml, which also resides in the same location. timers.xml is what schedules the recordings.

You specify the show parameters in autotimers.xml, it polls the epg data, any qualifying instances are added to timers.xml. You can specify the channel (by service reference), day/s, time slots, recording location etc.

How often are the autotimers polled? I'm using Freeview epg data, and I've noticed on one occasion when a programme was put back an hour, the autotimer picked it up and rescheduled it correctly. Was it down to good fortune, or is the polling regular enough to pick up these changes when they occur?
Or maybe changes in the epg are spotted and the autotimers are refreshed?
Also, what does saving the epg to disc achieve? Is it to give you a (nearly) fully populated epg when booting up?

I was more looking for a manual/pdf on using these
