Can't update to build 025

I tried an online update earlier and said there was an upgrade so kicked it off, when I came back in the box was stuck on starting and nothing else was happening.

I turned it off and came on the forum and then discovered 025 was released and needed a fresh flash. I put it on to a USB and when i power on the box, it says Starting - Reading USB - and back to starting again, so it never actually reads the USB or flashes the image.

Not sure if this is the red light issue, considering I've had no problems to date and it's only happened since an upgrade? Can anyone help?

Have you tried a different USB stick, have you confirmed file structure is correct ?

I got the same problem with my vu duo 2 it sticks on flashing and will not update.

If this happens, check that all other USB sticks are removed. If it still fails then, try an Image Manager update without restore.

If that still fails, remove the hard drive and try everything again.

No other USB sticks and the one I use is the one that normally works. I've tried another with no joy. Will remove hard drive later but starting to think it's the red light issue

I can't do an online update as I can't get into the box. It scans USB and I have the right structure but it just ignored it and then gets stuck on starting

What build were you previously using before the update attempt and are you sure the receiver is genuine, I don't mean to sound like a dick but it's a question I would rather get out there now so we know what we are dealing with, I would rather not spend hours chasing around for a solution to discover the receiver is a clone. (I hope I don't offend you by asking this).

Had the same problem on a GigaBlue Quad, So i downloaded the latest bootloader flashed that and then flashed 0.25 ( Both from usb ) and its up and running.

Do you have any other usb sticks, if so unplug and try again


Also do a full format of usb stick before trying again

Just flashed apollo 26 and worked a treat, must have been an issue with 25 on my duo2.

i did online update to 26 and working fine.Even restore from 24 is ok.Just had to activate NFS and Samba again.Also update ccam to 2.3.0.Working fine now on 26

Yes I updated to 26 from 24 via flash with no problems.

It's not that it is not possible, but it is highly not recommended due to the different OE cores and in some cased linux kernels and drivers. We could have gone the route of again renaming the image but we thought we would offer our users the benefit of following our advice (seems that we were again incorrect in assuming some users could follow simple advice).

Personally speaking it would not have bothered me if you had changed the name
and like you say pheonix if you did it would let people know that this was a Major Rebuild and warranted a New Name change

Does not matter what we do, there will always be a select few who just want to complain, even if the software they are using is given to them completely free of charge with a full support forum behind it, they will never be happy.

To be fair Phoenix there is nowhere on this forum that states it is not recommended to flash 26 from 24 unless I have missed it! Apologies if I have.

It was a thread that the admins required you to read, as it goes I updated my solo2 and duo2 from older versions with a setting restore, I just had to install nfs, sundtek control panel, epg refresh and on demand, everything has worked fine on both boxes for over 24 hours now.
