[VU+ Duo2] Constant freezing and crackling noises after update to any apollo 062 and above?

I was on Apollo 003 (which works perfectly fine) but upgraded to Apollo 109 and for some reason the tv images keep freezing non stop and a lot of crackling noises are made too. Anyone know whats going on? when i flash back to Apollo 003 everything works fine?!

How did you upgrade to 109. From such an old version I would reflash without any settings restore.

for some reason i couldn't flash through usb even though the box does play media files through it (another problem), so i ftp'd the update to the backup image manager. restored from there with settings restore and tried without settings restore, neither fixed the problem.

i tried the same with an earlier version, Apollo 062, still the same problem. then updated from Apollo 062 to 109 via software update option on the main menu. still had the same problem. so went back to 003 where everything seems to work fine!

just to see whether ftp'ing corrupts the file, i copied 003 from my box onto my desktop, then renamed it and ftp'd it back to the box and restored that specific 003 image and it works fine too?!

Try another usb stick and ensure it is formatted as fat32. Some vu+s are fussy about usb sticks. Apparently Kingston work the best. Then set up without a settings restore.

nothing wrong with usb stick. i installed the blakhole for now, is working fine and i will try later versions

Yes i have since i did buy my vu+duo2, the bugs start after version 60 for me are the subtitles are not like before, fire word by word, sometimes just lapses seconds. long time to read the ccam, picture freeze and machine locket with picture or black picture

just updated my et9200 via the image backup, ftp'd the latest vix apollo 126 and works perfectly fine. can't understand why it's not working with my vu+duo2?!

I filmed the problem to give a clearer understanding of what's happening. it seems like the receiver is over working itself for some reason as the vix logo keeps spinning up. i tried using other firmwares such as openPli and black hole and i get the same problem. the receiver seems to be fixated with the old firmware...
