Dorik1972, History zapper plugin - crash on pressing the INFO button

Gordon, no idea why you are wasting time on this. The plugin is broken and the guy wants to keep the source secret. Time to move on. If people don't crashes they should avoid closed source plugins like this one.

And no idea why this is needed... HistoryZap is a built-in feature in OpenViX.

And the OP also has another thread where some other crap he loaded has broken the blue button.

People should stick to stuff from OpenViX feeds unless they know what they are doing and how to fix what they break.

Because I feel that his code started out as GPL (if not, whey does it have a GPL licence notification inside it? - Not the sort of thing that happens by accident.) and he's now trying to close-source it just because he's added to it.

Why my comments on linuxsat might help to highlight.

Can I higlight how to activate the built-in feature in OpenVix
cheers

I haven't tried it for a while but you could find similar channels in history zap plugin aswel as showing more information and it displays IPTV channels aswel. I think it uses epg translate aswel but that requires a donation.

Reporting any crashes to the author will be better as above it's closed source

As this is now confirmed to be a plugin crash, I am going to move this thread to plugin support and rename the thread.

Sadly, we cannot help any further as the plugin you are using is closed source and the author does not want to reveal the source files. He is a good coder so he will hopefully resolve it. In future, it may be better to list which plugins you have installed and from where you acquired them.

Thanks for the excellent troubleshooting from my initial post; you pinpointed this plugin.
So, I will ftp and manually delete it and will give you the feedback
cheers
He's now fixed it (apparently).

Personally if it is closed source I wouldn't be running it. Who knows what it could be up to.

It's a genuine laugh and it's from the bottom of my heart (not a sarcastic I respect your opinion).
As a proud owner of a Gigablue Quad 4 K Pro, I am also a proud owner of a DreamTwo Ultra, so I am active on some of the Dream forums. It's taboo to install an open image on Dream, and the same principle applies: we don't know the developer, so we don't trust. It's open source, and everybody can add or modify it.

You can read open source so you know there are no hidden trojans. If you can't read it they could be doing anything on your box or home network. Could even be using you as a spam email proxy. Can install whatever they like on your box and you don't even know.
