There seem to be extraneous files left over after removing plugins.

When I initially go to Menu/Plugins after startup I get the message:
"Warning: Some plugins are not available. Extensions/ MediaStream (No module named json)"
However, I removed MediaStream from the plugins some time ago.

When I go to Menu/Plugins a second time, the message doesn't show up.

Some removed plugins also appear to have left folders in the file system.

Although this is all not a big problem, I thought that it was worth reporting.

This happened to me before also with an incompatible plugin for my box, it installed anyway but when i went into plugin browser i got the message some plugins are not compatible even after uninstalling via the plugin browser.

I got rid of the 'leftover' files that were not removed correctly but going into the box via FTP and deleting them.

If you FTP into your receiver, and go to usr/lib/enigma2/python/plugins/extensions and delete the folder 'MediaStream' , then reboot your receiver should all be fixed and will no longer get the error message.

May be worth making a backup of your settings/image before doing this, just incase; you can never be to sure or careful with enigma2!

The safest way would be to take an image backup before trying out plugins, or anything else you're not 100% sure of for that matter, and then you can get back to where you were without any issues.

I've played with satellite receivers for nearly 30 years now and would advise all to make a backup before doing anything new!

These days, the facility to make a settings/image backup is built into all mainstream images and yet many do not take advantage of this automation, much to their chagrin later.

If in doubt, make a backup BEFORE messing around and don't be tempted to delete all of the earlier backups from your storage device - the files are relatively small compared to the capacity of your HDD or USB and keeping a few earlier versions has often saved me a lot of frustrating setup time.

Needless to say, perhaps, I am one of the many who have sometimes ignored their own best advice over the years and paid the price!

Make a backup BEFORE playing!

End of sermon!
