[Mut@nt HD2400] Flashing upgrade from open vix 5.2.019 to latest 5.4

Hello guys,

I'm on an old version of openvix (5.2.19) and trying to update to the latest version somehow.

I have tried via USB with a couple of different USB drives, some where bypassed and did not pick up the image to flash at all at boot up and a couple gave me the option to flash at boot but when selecting to go ahead with the flash it just gets stuck at "flashing" on the LED screen on the box and goes no further.

I also tried shrinking the partition on the drive down to 4GB (from 16GB) to make it appear like a smaller usb drive in case that was the issue but it behaved in the same way. I understand from the other posts about this that the issue is likely the USB drive and it will just be a case of getting some others to try until it works which I could do in time.

I have also tried the image manager but when going into the download section it is blank so no new image available to download that way.

My question is that is there a way of me downloading an image file of the latest openvix manually and transferring it on to the usb drive image manager image folder and then go into image manager and restore that?

Would that work or no?

Is there anyway around me updating in this situation without trying to find a usb drive that will work?

Yes you can download the image onto a usb stick and flash it with the image manager. When in the image manager press menu and check/change the backup location to your usb stick. Dont extract the image - leave it as a zip file.

Oh brilliant, that should make things easier, thanks for getting back to me,

I have a USB drive that I use with the box all the time where the existing image backups and epg data etc is stored anyway. Could I just drop the zip file in the existing image backup folder and flash it from there?

I'm running Ubuntu so could transfer it over to the existing ext4 formatted USB that openvix uses easily enough.
