Gigablue Quad UHD 4K ULTRA HDTV Linux E2 Combo Receiver Available from: 15.05.2017?

as far as i know Gigablue only support 2.5" Hard Drives

... and I agree with you that is what I would expect ...... but the lack of any mention implies no HDD, but we will see!

It has to support internal HD surely?

... "Through the USB ports, network or e-SATA" on both boxes, suggests no internal drive to me.

On a German sat retailer it says that it supports

SATA interface Function SATAIII Support 2.5 "HDD Ready
and a SATA cable is in the box

Any one got one or seen them on sale yet?

Got one on order from the GiGablue people, they tell me 18th May ..... just been revamping my whole setup to accommodate the fbc requirements ..... better be good with all the additional time and money to do that:)

How much are they retailing for?

350 Euro is the current price ... slightly cheaper from some German dealers.
Used the sale of the Octagon 4K to pay for some of it!

Is this actually a quad tuner or a triple tuner?

Its a dual FBC tuner with an option of a PnP DVB-S2/T2/C tuner.
I thought I would try something different (FBC) just to keep myself amused:) A birthday present to myself.

The FBC for cable interests me the most only really need a single sat tuner for my big dish

Just waiting till wos start selling them to see what UK prices will be

i think i will stick with my Ultimo 4k as it has both Sat & Cable FBC Tuners fitted and i need to get a Unicable LNB and fit my Motorized Dish with the way 28.2E is going, or just move my Sky mini Dish to 13 or 19E
plus i have about 3 Receivers that i hardly use now as they are only any use now for Free Sat, so i have just ordered a Denon AVR-X 2300W av Amp from Richer Sounds instead of wasting my money on New Receivers that become obsolete after 2 years because the manufacturers stop updating them so you will buy their latest greatest new one that really is no better than the last one :rolleyes:

Well that's true of all electronics, only read this week that the next big TV gizmo is unlikely to be retro fitted to even 2017 TV models, so it's always a case of buyer beware ...... read up as much as you can before buying another expensive turkey:)

The ultimo 4k does look like the best receiver out there.

Certainly is worth every penny. The Vu+ Ultimo 4K that is........

So comparing the Giga 4K vs Ultimo 4K both with twin FBC tuner (Dvb-s2) you pay an extra 200 Euro .... some of you guys have deep pockets:)

Maybe but the Giga doesn't have the 3 tuner buses, it's these little refinements that can cost serious money.
