[VU+ Solo2] ITV recording issue.

Hi guys,

I don't know whether this is an image issue or box issue. So it's in here. Sorry if it's wrong Rob.

I'm on Helios 8, using Solo2 with built in HDD. Time shift is on automatically.

We have a problem recording ITV HD. Emmerdale is set to auto record, and more often than now, it fails. It either doesn't record, or when we press play it starts, then jumps to the end. If we watch it whilst recording its fine. But if it's recording while we are watching something else, 9 times out of ten it will fail. Only that channel. Every other is fine in the same scenario.

Any ideas?

Have you got debug logs?
What are your tuner settings (physical)
What are you tuner settings (software)
Have you altered any priorities?
During the failed recordings, were you viewing something else?

Debug logs not been enabled. Will put on now.

Tuner settings: both A and B BCM7356 DVB-S2 NIM Internal

Both configured simple, single pointed at 28.2E

More often than not it happens when we are watching something else. We thought it only happened when Sky 1 HD was being watched, but happened today and E4 was being watched.

It's only an issue with ITV, both SD and HD. Tried both.

No priorities changed. If 2 things are about to record, the channel is zapped to one of them. So recording has priority.

Can you try following:
Disable one tuner at a time and perform a conventional single satellite scan with other one. (not ABM )

Report back with how many channels you get on each scan.

Just done the tuner scan as suggested, both tuners pick up 962 channels.

Just seems strange it's only one channel it's failing on.

The purpose of the tuner scan was to establish if there were any signal issues.

Could you go to /etc/settings/ and look at timers.xml? Please check whether the service reference that is used for the recording matches the current one for the ITV channel you are using.

Yep it's identical pal.

It's just done it again. Sky One HD was on, I noticed it was 5 past 7, quickly flicked to ITV HD, went to the HDD location, and it only started to record once I had zapped to ITV HD. It missed the 5 mins I was on another channel.

It's bloody annoying now. Reckon the Mrs will be wanting the proper Sky box back soon.

suggestion : have you tried disabling timeshift ? On my IPbox 9000 HD i had the same problem on severall channels when timeshift was enabled.

Just enabled it now pal. See what happens tonight.

Seems to be a slight issue recording fta channels. The mrs was recording and watching (time shift enabled too) one born every minute on 4HD, I had game of thrones recording on sky Atlantic HD.

Hers became unwatchable, kept jumping and she missed half of it. I just watched game of thrones and it recorded perfectly.

Just done it again. E4 HD is on. Checked to see if it was recording. Nope. 0:00 min.

So decided to change to a non encrypted channel, E4+1, instantly starts recording.

Debug logs are on. How do I upload it?

The default location is at /home/root/logs/. Transfer to PC. On forum, Click on GO advanced, manage attachments......

Just looked in the folder, no debug logs in there. Just crash logs.

Then you have not enabled them, or didn't reboot after enabling them.
