[VU+ Duo2] mgcamd randomly stopping?

  • Thread starter Thread starter Ureyesonly

You haven't got the logging feature on to an ip address within mg_cfg have you (the L: option) ?

Attached is my mg_cfg file and I haven't noticed any problems with 1.38 on my solo2.
View attachment 43725

If problem is after a few hours of continued watching a scrambled channel then maybe as i've watched films without problem but don't think i've constantly stayed on either the same channel or a scrambled channel for more than an hour or two.

I think thats the problem,the mg_cfg file.

vix and open atv dont have the file, in the feeds, we have to find our own file.

.

open pli have it built in to the image. all configured and working.

youl need to slowly explain this one to the them as not many will understand it lol

by any chance do any of you have another cam installed on the same box as mgcamd?

Basically most users will have "found" their config files on the internet for MGcam and most of these contain a line that tries to connect to a none existent ip address, this then bounces back and over time the receiver starts to DDos the router it is connected to.

But back to the point of the thread I am having the exact same issues as your self with both CCcam and Mgcam, they both freeze every few minutes (ranging from 5 minutes to 15 minutes randomly) before kicking back in, this happens with a remote connection and my own card so I know it is not a internet issue and I have disabled / changed the frozen cam check option in the softcam manager just to be sure with no difference at all.

No config file will ever be included in ViX as standard for legal reasons, I cant and wont speak for ATV they can do that them selves. If you want to use a softcam it is YOUR responsibility to understand how to setup and use it no one else's, so you cant blame any one if you use files you find on the internet when you have no idea what they do.

Well thank you....you little charmer.

I'm inclined to think it is my mg_cfg file too.
Here it is:-

And I think my L= line is perhaps causing the problem!

Yes, you're logging everything causing it to flood your router. Use the mg_cfg I posted which I haven't noticed a problem with yet.

I disabled logging in my MGcam config years ago and it worked flawlessly until Hades, now both CCcam and MGcam freeze periodically with local and none local cards where they work fine on all other earlier images.

After how long though as i've yet to come across mgcam freezing using my cfg file.

as i said above any where from 5 minutes to 15.

I can watch a whole film without a problem. Could you maybe post/PM your cfg file to see what difference is between us, or alternatively, you try my cfg file (which I posted in an earlier thread).

I noticed in @Johnhoe cfg, he has a few other things different in his cfg file than I do and not just the logging.

Thats the config file I have used for years, I have no idea what the problem is now but it is doing the same via CCcam with my own card too.

Well below are the actual differences between my cfg and yours:

i too also got caught out with box ddos and only using 1.38 cam, curious if laptop could have same issue as i get a 172 ip popup been blocked outgoing
but no tuners in use.

Are you connected to any kind of network? I thought 172.16.1.1 was for private use only and thus will not exist in the outside world.

yes my own network of boxes solo2 duo tm nano, max digital, desktop and laptop also wired but its just laptop with that popup.when i saw the same 172 ip will need to write whole ip down to check but outgoing stopped on pc:confused:

Delete cccam along with the c line, & just use mgcamd see how you get on as it's settled down for me

There on totally different machines, CCcam on one mgcam on the other and there still freezing very regularly.
