Hi Guys,

Only had the Duo a couple of days, going well and impressed so far its a nice stb.

I have ViX installed and have gotten CCcam and NewcamD both working nicely. Have manged to set up EPG and updating nicely.

The one thing that is frustrating me is attempting to set up my disecq 1.2 motorised system the stb only seems to be remembering the last found satellite.
for example:
I set Tuner A up to be a positioner and 28 degs my lnb1 saved to position 1
searched for found and saved dish position.
That sat (28 degs) now works fine.

So i try to set up 19 degs using the same process (apart from labelling this one as LNB2 saved in position2) and find and save this sat which works lovely and i now have colours on that sat.

I then try to watch something on 28 degrees and the dish says its going to 28 degs but fails to find the sat ??

any ideas what i am doing wrong ?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks in anticipation..

Hurrst

PS: want to use disecq and not usals as i am not certian dish is mounted 100 % correct as i have never had success with usals.

firts of all, on all sats within tuner A should be set to lnb 1, that will solve your problem

part 2 of my post to follow

USALs is best though

input you geo position, then adjust your east/west setting +/- say 3 degrees, use sat finder to hop between sats, ie, 28/13 east readjust untill best results are achieved

if you used advanced rather than simple, the odd sat that needs a fixed location can be achieved via disabling USALs on say 1 west ( again all lnb settings would be LNB1 )

Hi Basily thanks for trying mate but sadly no joy..

I set all sats to Lnb1 as mentioned..

I found 28 deg's and saved it, then found 19 degs and saved that, but when i went to view 28 sadly it doesn't find it :( but does find 19 so i saved 28 again which i can now view but now it doesn't find 19 :(

Only seems to remember the last sat i save :(

Very frustrating sadly as i have managed to sort all other set ups ie (CCcam, Newcamd, Epg etc etc ) with ease...

Thanks for trying though mate..

what setting are you using in the tuner A config simple or advanced,

i am using advanced with disecq 1.2 in tuner A position... with tuner B not configured as i have no coax in that one...

ok, thats sounds ok, but try this

activate USALs
input your geo position ( yes i have read your post )
use sat finder to find 28 east, / 19 east, and adjust east/west setting as needed to get a mean average sig strength
in tuner config, for now just set up 28/19/13 east with USALs

so with out prssing ok...select 28 east set USALs, then scroll back up the list, and select 19 east, select use USALs, YES, again scroll up..select 13 east...set USALS to yes, then press OK

once done if you are happy, leave as is, or add the other sats
if you still want positions saved
whilst on 28 east, go into sat config, and disable USALS and save position as 028 press OK
then send the dish to 19 east again disable USALS and set the position to 019
repeat for all required sats

Will try as you say above Bas, but quick question first how to use sat finder ? I have been finding sat positions by going to 0 then searching east if that makes sense. When i looked at Sat finder plugin i wasn't really sure how it was used and then stored each one ?

Thanks

Hurrst

thats easy,...select sat finder, any sats set up in the tuner config ie 28/19/13 will be there

select ( satfinder ) it will by defualt be on 19 east, hi light it..press sideways button..and 28/13/19 will show,...select 28 east,...the dish will then move to where it thinks 28 east is,,,,,via USALs ( or saved sat position, but for now, please do as surgested )

Hi Bas, some progress at least mate...

I have managed to save 28, 19, 16, 13 east and 1 & 30 deg west...

But sadly not using Usals i am not convinced my dish is set up correctly as with my long and lats it just fails to find sats..

I now have set up and saved the above using the disecq mode but one last query now..

I am unable to set any others up due to the fact they don 't appear in the position tuner list ?? When i select service searching / positioner setup / Tune (red button) i only see the sats listed above is there any way of adding others as they are all there when i look in the Tuner A configuration menu and scroll left to right ??

Thanks for all your efforts so farm much appreciated.

Regards

Hurrst

yes,

simply go to tuner config, ans add them, set them to USALS first, then get the dish to go to say 4.8 east, then disable usals, nudge the dish untill you get best signal, then save the position as say "5"

Hi again, not sure if i made sense...

For example 7 degs east appears in the tuner A config and also the sat finder plugin but it doesn't appear in the Positioner Set Up that i am using to find the sats ??

Basically go to Positioner Setup then Tune and press red button i scroll left and right through sats but no 7 deg east ??

Thanks

Hurrst

it wont be, you need to select a unique freq, via selecting a channel on 7 east, use usals to get approx position, disable usals, go to positioner set up and adjust, then save as "7"

Right i think i get ya i will have a play later many thanks again...

If i upload new settings to stb does that mean i would have to find all sats again or should that still work ??

Hurrst

oh forgot to add this..in tuner config after disabling usals...add position 7 to the 7 east set up,....as per before, then go to postioner set up and adjust

you will not lose your previous settings...the above will simply add to the list as it were
