[ViX_Misc] nfs share setup help please

Hi

I have uno with latest vix 2.4 build 155 and i was able to share my dvd drive in my win7 pc via cifs.

Now, iwant to share it via nfs...

Can you help please

In that case you have NFS with the OS just not installed so you have to do it manually

In order to activate the Client for NFS, go into the Control Panel, and go to "Programs and Features". In the left hand column, you'll see a link for "Turn Windows features on or off".
Select that, and it will open a list box that shows all of the optional components built in to Windows 7. Some are already activated. Expand the entry for "Services for NFS". There are two check boxes under that. Check them and hit OK. Windows will install those components and ask to reboot your system. Once you have rebooted, Client for NFS will be installed.
To use it, go to Administrative Tools->Services for NFS to configure it. Alternatively, you can use the command line program 'nfsadmin' to configure.

Can you help to configure Services for NFS please

I have a dvd drive in my pc and I want to access it from my vu and play the movies in my dvd disc.

you just setup the share as normal but you have to tell it to use NFS instead of samba - got to go out in a mo but there are plaenty of guides out there just google windows nfs sharing.

I can not find it

Just realised that there was a bit missing from the instructions above, when you go into the Windows Features list box find the one labeled "Services for NFS". Expand it and you should see "Administrative Tools" and "Client for NFS". Check all three boxes and click OK then reboot again.

When expanding Services for NFS...you get only 2 boxes " one for Administrative Tools" and one "Client for NFS...both are checked with the main box for Services for NFS

still can not find the NFS share tab

in that case you have no nfs server - download and install haneWIN NFS server
