fast (free ad-supported tv) channels are a special challenge for e2 receivers. the reason is that several movie and ad sections with different characteristics are stitched together resulting in a stream that the e2 video subsystem can't handle without problems. with the latest gstreamer the situation improved but some channels still have problems when played back or recorded: hangs, distortions, etc.
there are ways to mitigate the problems: serviceapp, etc. but according to my experience not perfectly.
that's why i though about a concept that works (perfectly?) on e2. the idea is to use a proxy to create a dvb compliant ts stream that the e2 subsystem can handle without problems. fast channel playback and recordings will look to e2 the same as dvb recordings. so e2 will not have any problems playing those back. fast forward/backward and jumping across ad sections are no problem. timeshift is possbile without problems as well.
i have implemented the proxy for plutotvcockpit, rakutentvcockpit and samsungtvcockpit. so, if you like, give it a try.
