[VU+ Solo4K] TBS 5925 USB Tuner

The point of the test is it selects the correct tuner if a non multistream tuner is available on the same satellite as the multistream channels.

Please configure one of your internal tuners to access 5W even if the satellite is not available on that tuner.

Then try multistream and non-multistream channels on 5W and see which tuner it selects in each case.

Ok, configured int tuner to 5w also so both TBS and int tuner capable of tuning 5w but neither will actually tune any channel MS or normal S2 with tune failed messages and Solo 4k slows to a crawl with spinners everywhere.

Off to bed now but can do as testing as you like later.

Ok, please test that multistream channels automatically go to correct tuner whereas normal S2 channels play on the internal tuner.
If i set auto in tuner priority (Tuner configuration ) this change does not work…for some reasons at 5W prefer tbs at all freqs.
If i set auto to internal tuners and priority 1 in tbs ( lower than any auto) this change works perfect…at any multistream freq prefer tbs and for all others prefer internal

I just tried this configuration and indeed the correct tuner is selected every time, I think this is an amazing achievement for E2 by @Huevos

How do you find the integrated operation of the TBS tuner? Do you find it slow? Do you still prefer the slave box setup?

Well there's no doubt that the TBS is slower on the Solo 4k than when I tried it on a Zero where there was no discernible difference to using an internal tuner, whether this is due to the ARM arch I have no idea.

If we're talking about multistream from just one sat ie 5w then with the changes Huevos has made then I prefer the TBS as the slowness is perfectly acceptable as it's only the MS channels affected.

My problem is that I'd like to receive MS from other satellites which means I'd have to connect my motorised dish to the TBS and therefore the slowness would affect both MS and normal S2 channels.

On Duo2 there was no discernible difference to using tbs or internal… the problem is if tbs has no signal for a while…in this case enigma2 has spinner and it s very very slow…as i have read this is tbs drivers issue….come back to normal speed only after reboot and unplug tbs and plug in again….

Update building now. Should show up in "Software Update" shortly. Mainly adds debug log info about how/why any particular tuner is being selected. Switch on debug logs to see output. Also the tuner preferences has been tweaked. Test with all tuner priorities set to auto.

just update online (in info still say 4.2.007.001(multistream) )
seems not working the auto prefer tuner… when all tuners priorities are to auto

Pull the next update and look at the scores in the debug log. Set prefence to auto. Remember that tuners with multisat setups always score lower than tuners set up for single sat. So if you have the TBS attached for single sat and another tuner for multisat the TBS will always be chosen.

Multisat setup for tbs and internal too, priority to auto enigma2 does not choose the tuner as we want… always tbs is choosen!!! If you need debug log let me know

Yes I always need debug logs. Please describe exactly what you have connected to each tuner.

Only way for a fair test would be set up the internal tuner and then set the tbs as "equal to" the internal.

sorry for the delay but it was a difficult day!! now back to tests.
1st debug log is with tuner configuration of TBS as advanced with 10 satellites actives and priority auto…seems that does not work and always enigma choose tbs
2st debug log is with tuner configuration equal to tuner A and enigma choose tuner as we want

PS: On 4.8E we have 2 multistream freqs: 12188 and 12341. Tbs has signal but it scans 0 channels… is this normal because there we have T2-MI and not ACM/VCM ??

Thanks

TBS has 10 satellites.
How many does the internal tuner have?

The tuner selected should always be the one with the fewer satellites configured.

2 sat internals( tuner A with full sat from 30w-62e and tuner B with one sat)
2 internals dvbt
So you mean that enigma selects tbs because it has fewer sats from tuner A??

Tuner B is not selected because it is not valid for this satellite.
Tuner A with full sat from 30w-62e = 76 satellites.
TBS = 10 satellites.

TBS will be selected because it has 66 fewer satellites configured.

This is the correct behaviour. Tuner selection should always be what consumes the least resources.

Huevo about this? Do you have any idea?
