[GiGaBlue HD800UE] Vix keeps spinning or crashes

When these boxes are reflashed and the setup guide says to shutdown your box before removing usb sticks etc,does this mean a deep standby,or put into deep standby then pull the plug,as this is when i seem to have issues with the vix constantly spinning and not fully booting,or it will crash if i press the buttons on the remote quick in succession?
I am using a usb stick to store epg and picons on. Thanks

When flashing any receiver, power the receiver down via the power button on the rear of the box or via the plug before you remove the USB stick, to prevent accidental corruption of the USB stick or receiver. once you have removed the stick simply power the receiver back on and allow it to boot up fully.

So there is no need to put it into deep standby first,just pull the plug,then remove usb stick.

Also on the same box,is there any reason why it would freeze up every morning when it tries to update epg and abm?
All seems setup correctly....

There is no way you can place a receiver into Deep Standby after flashing. When you seen the message on screen / or the receivers display to remove the USB stick and reboot, power down and go from there.

My Gigablue,just carries on to setup screen after the flashing is done,I then set everything up and then deep standby, remove stick? Perhaps i am missing the remove stick part on the little screen,but i have not noticed it before.

It only really applies to receivers that have no user interaction as part of the flashing process such as the Vu+ Duo. otherwise the box would reflash every time you booted it up, if your receiver requires interaction usually in the form of pressing a physical button on the receiver to start the flashing process then you dont need to follow that step, in fact its not even in the flashing tutorials I created.

The removal of the USB stick refers only to when reflashing a new imagefrom it.
If you are using a stick for picons, then leave it in all the time or
only remove after the box is in deep standby and then put it back in before booting up again

Hi,thats exactly what i am doing a reflash, but for some reason after setting up usb mounts etc or updates, I keep getting vix spinning, well just about its that slow, or crashes for unknown reasons?
I have done a online update since,to the latest image as of yesterday, and still these problems.

Have you got a swapfile setup?
