I did an online update from apollo 153 to apollo 156 tonight all went ok but now i have the blank flashing icon

you should not have updated online. build 154/155 was a mandatory fresh flash without using backups.

Why not put a comment to that effect in the Changelog that you can view when doing an on-line update?

That would be useful because not everyone will visit the forum for such instructions before doing an update - albeit when they do visit to request help after updating, they should see the mandatory post advising of the need for a fresh install, and thus avoiding the need to make a post.

Hi Phoenix, bit confused here mate:confused:
I was going to do a fresh flash from 153 to 155 as advised but now notice that Apollo 156 is out.
Can you please confirm that I can do fresh flash from 153 to 156 or advise otherwise?
Many thanks in advance.

After checking the update and changelog forum thread for 156 I saw that the instructions said you could do an online update. (155 was released briefly and withdrawn, so no release notes). I chanced an online update from 153 on a Quad Plus. Went without a hitch, no issues noted. The version of gstreamer hasn't changed. I was just wondering if the proposed changes to kernel and gstreamer have actually happened?

The gstreamer changes will come with the new OE-A core, this image is not based on the new core, it is a intermediary release with updates for the skins etc.
