Get your settings .zip file and run it through here.

I had the same problem, but I read this reply on another forum.
Add the following lines to the satellites.xml file, posted by Abu Baniaz

Code:
<sat name="0.8W Ku-band Thor 5/6/7 & Intelsat 10-02" flags="0" position="-8">
    </sat>

    -<sat name="4.8E Ku-band Astra 4A & SES 5" flags="0" position="48">
    </sat>

I did that then re scanned the 2 satellites 0.8 and 4.8, the stations then returned.
Just out of interest I only have a satellites.xml file in etc/tuxbox and not in etc/enigma2

Would it be beneficial just to copy and paste the one from etc/tuxbox into etc/enigma2

Thanks as always.

the system one will be replaced when you perform an update. the one in enigma2 is a personal copy which isn't touched.

those lines allow people with existing settings to still use them. best to use the new details as that is what the providers use.

Sent from my HTC One M9PLUS using Forum Fiend v1.3.3.

I have obviously goofed somewhere along the line:confused:
I have a multi lnb set up( 6 off satellites on 1 diseqc switch), I fresh installed to image 16 last night and am having strange issue with THOR satelllite.
I am getting "tune failed" error when switching from other satellite channels to Thor 1 west channels, only way to get them back is to go into menu and reconfigure Thor satellite again. Switching between other satellite channels is not a problem.
I have reflashed a back up of 09 image and not getting any problems so am thinking that I have somehow corrupted satellites.xml file.
Any advice would be welcome:thumbsup:

Old procedure has been restored.

Latest 019 image has satellites.xml in the old format. See note in software update changelog.

EEehhh... Why back to the old way again?? After I have moved forward to the new way......

Yep. Too many people whining that they want to continue on with the old "wrong" settings.

Current xml breaks new Scandinavian providers in ABM. People will have to wait for a fix for that.

I have to disagree about the wrong settings... This is information from viasat.no:

"Viasat kringkaster sine kanaler via satellitten Sirius (Astra 4A). Posisjonen er 4.8 °E."

But for Canal Digital, the correct is 1.0 °W...

What details are embedded on the data on the satellite?

Don't know... Just repeating what the webpages for the two that uses those satellites says....

When we scan the satellite, do we get the data from the satellite or website?

Which "correct" version is the correct version?

Anyway, what has happened has happened. We only discovered this when adding new providers for ABM. If the 0.8w/1w providers are added to ABM, maybe they will reconsider their rejection.

Well, I am just assuming that Viasat knows where their satellies is but I do not have the knowledge to argue about this, so I will stop now... :)

Well, as I said, I was just assuming that Viasat knows where their satellite is and that they have the correct information on their website...

Many.. And also there have to be a reason why they wrote 4.8, that number must come from somewhere..
But as I said, I do not have the knowledge so I will stop now.....

I thought I had it sorted , but all I ever did was change the xml for 0.8 to 1 and 4.8 to 5. When the online update came it all went . Now I've had to do the same again. I'm not going To do future updates cuZ I can't keep scanning channels list and making fav list over and over again. What is the proper fix to this anyone? I've read I have to re- position it . I've never done it on a vu solo 2 . Ive done it before on a technomate 500 but I just Dnt understand how to do it on a solo 2. On positioner setup it says go on fine movement step East or west it Dnt work for for me. Right now im on 0.8 snr is 83% im getting 13.5 db . What do I do here how can I keeping moving it East or west Finking I have got 0.8 to 1w? What is memory index? It says 01? Is that a save state or summat? If I move the postion does it mean it saves it in memory index 01? And if I was to do a another change eg 19.2e I would store that to memory index 2? And are these numbers (go to) 000.0? At the begining when I do a re flash i get asked longitude and altitude and I enter 051.500 North . I've been told it's the setting for 28.2 for the motor. Wel is there not one that can be entered for 1wand 5w? Can some 1 please get me though this. My only other option would be is try another image .

yes because that what viasat them selves used to state it was 4.8 East, now they say it's 5.0 east, so if you really want to bitch and moan, then by all means pop along to viasat and complain to them as it's their balls up not ours.
