[ViX_Misc] Unable to go into deep standby after a recording.

Thanks birdman. I had powered down the Ethernet switch - it never occurred to me that it needs time from the internet at all, never mind to be able to switch back to deep standby. Have tried going to deep standby and back to live with no internet connection, and the front panel clock shows the correct time as soon as the current channel name comes up, so it seems pick up the time from the TV transmissions once tuned in.

Will retry waking from deep standby for recording with Ethernet connection alive and report the results.

P.S. Where can I find the enigma2.sh file?

Yes - it will get the time from the tuners, but it doesn't talk to them until it's initailzied other things - including checking why it woke up.

Ran a recording again last night with the internet connection live. The debug log now has a more useful file name, but still no signs of anything like "[Navigation] RECTIMER: wakeup to standby detected" anywhere in the file, and still no return to deep standby.

The recording was around 75 mins + the default padding, so I would expect it to have finished ~ T=5000, but nothing that strikes me as being obviously wrong there.

So presumably the hardware you haven't doesn't set the flag when it wakes up owing to a timer.

Where do I need to raise this in the hope of getting a fix?

I just default "After Event" to deep standby for all my autotimers - it works every time.

Will give that a try, if only to help isolate the problem.

Is this ignored if replaying at the time? If so, it would seem to be a reasonable solution for Freeview users who do not use the box for live viewing, but rather frustrating for anyone watching a program live. I would not be a happy bunny if it shut down while I was replaying something.

Possibly not - I don't think those fixes are (all) in OpenVix.
But the worst that should happen is that you get a prompt asking you whether you wish to shut-down.

Remember that altering an existing autotimer will not effect timers it has already created.

Yes, found that out the hard way!

Setting "After Event" to deep standby does seem to work. My impression is that it didn't wake up to the same level with this setting, and the log file includes:

[Navigation] TIMER: now entering standby

at around 52 seconds that was not there before.

Hi,

Did you resolve this issue successfully in the end?

I am getting same problem. However, I know mine is linked to the EPGselection.pyo hack that gives you the SKY style EPG tabs. I have the have the EPG tabs EPGselection.pyo installed and this is the root of the problem.

When I revert to the original EPGselection file all is well.

maybe someone fixed the EPGselection file to resolve this issue?

Download the latest version of hack and you should be fine. Pretty sure I deleted the older ones.

Thanks Abu,

Does this correct the EPGselection file? Or do I need to revert to the original EPGselection file and this userconfig file contains the EPG tabs as well as the power timer correction?

Sry to be a pain, but I really like the EPG tabs!
