sent log but don't know the number i've been given.

The text i sent with the log was : 'Spinning started when watching tv with recording in the background'

Had this happened a few times already, i think it got something to do with the recording, i have 2 HDD, 1TB bulilt in and an external USB HDI D 2TB, powered.
THere's nothing wrong with both HDD as i was able to do multiple recordings on both in the near past.

Only thing i can do to revive the SF4008 is to hard reboot after the crash as the spinner keeps going.

What Sats/countries are you trying to pick up? You seem to be importing the whole of Western Europe.
Epgimport seems to have issues, both with the inports and an unzip module .... perhaps clear out epg.dat and restart?

ok i will do, i don't like an empty list lol

ok deleted it (after init 4) redownloading EPG now, keep informing you.

I see this error during boot up -
Code:
< 42.970> [eEPGCache] setCacheFile read/write epg data from/to '/media/hdd/epg.dat'
< 42.970> [eEPGCache] time updated.. start EPG Mainloop
< 42.970> [eEPGCache] /media/hdd/epg.dat not found, try /epg.dat

However, later in the process the EPG data seems to be saving correctly to /media/hdd/epg.dat. There seems to be a lot of events (over 500,00) so maybe the sheer size is using up all RAM or temporary files in flash?

nothing is being saved to flash, must say also i had twice the error message 'DISK FULL' although i still have 124GB left on the external HDD.

Why don't you try this:
Delete epg.dat again!
Reduce your epg imports to just UK and see if that runs OK
Then add a couple of countries at a time.
See how that goes and then repeat

You really have a lot of providers! .. and perhaps one is causing an issue (wouldn't be the first time)

I will try but ... I NEVER had this problem before with as many providers on, so what has changed then ?
EPGIMPORT always worked perfectly.

Wish I knew, but hopefully worth trying.
