[Zgemma H7] Deleting movies messes up

Sometimes when I try to delete a movie near the top of the list (newest files) I can't delete it if what is currently recording has the same name.

e.g. Today I set two timers, one to record a film from satellite another to record it from Freeview simultaneously.
Then I changed my mind and stopped the recording from Satellite.
The box would not let me delete the recording I stopped, instead asking me if I wanted to stop the recording in progress before deleting!!

It also happens if I accidentally reboot the box just before something I set to record starts.
Say program is scheduled to start at 21:00 and recording is set to start at 20:57 and without thinking I reboot at 20:58.
The tiny short recording of the end of the previous program and maybe some adverts cannot be deleted while the box is recording the actual program without it asking if I want to stop the recording in progress before deleting!!

Just tried it out with the same recording on freeview hd and freeview sd. Did a gui restart after a few minutes.

Stopping the sd recording (either the red button in movelist on the active recording, or red button in timers on the sd timer) allowed me to delete the first part as well.

Both program names in movelist were the same.

With just a single recording it seems reasonable to protect the first part until the recording has finished - it may have started 3 minutes early, so you would have missed the start of the programme, not the adverts.

You surely get a warning when rebooting that recordings are in progress/coming up?

You do, so it's the OP's choice I guess, I never do it, but a crash might slip thru' unnoticed.

TBH it's hardly worth worrying about.

But as I explained it doesn't have to be due to a reboot.
If you (accidentally* or deliberately) have two timers recording the same program (perhaps one on Freeview and one on Satellite, or one HD and one SD) and notice once the recordings start and decide to stop one of them you can't then delete that unwanted partial recording until the other recording has finished.

(*due to a wrongly set up autotimer perhaps).

As I explained in post #2, I can't reproduce the problem.

Autotimer will re-create a timer if you delete the timer (assuming it runs during the time frame of said timer), you need to disable/delete the autotimer to guarantee avoiding it restarting.

Okay maybe it has to be one Freeview and one Satellite like triggered me to post the original query.

Autotimer will only recreate a timer when it runs which for me is normally only once a day in the night immediately after EPG-Refresh finishes.

With the same program being recorded on terrestrial and satellite I go to the “movie” list and see both are being recorded, I highlight one instance and select delete and am given the option to stop recording and delete – which works while the other recoding continues.

IIRC that deletes the timer.
Now try and delete the partial recording while the other recording continues.

No problem here deleting the partial recording leaving one recording to continue. (The timers were not generated by the autotimer)
Ah, I see what you did.
You just picked one at random and deleted it.
That's no good, I want to choose a particular one and delete that one so I have to delete the timer (and stop the recording) first and only then can I see which is which in the movie list and try and delete the partial recording (the one which now has a green icon).
I have to do it that way because you can only tell which is which in the timer list, not in the movie list.

Following your instructions above I can still delete the partial recording whilst the other continues.

Me too.

@BrianTheTechieSnail: Are you using the movie-list trash can?
