[VU+ Uno4KSE] Issue with EIT NOW/NEXT data on VU+UNO4KSE

I seem to be experiencing an issue with EIT or NOW/NEXT data not appearing on a Vu+ Uno4kSE. With a clean install of latest 6.6.007, I don't see any NOW/NEXT data either in the infobar or channel list (e.g. after pressing up) or Single EPG. I tried a few different skins but same issue.

I tried going back to an older image 6.3.007, and the NOW/NEXT data appears correctly in both infobar and channel list (e.g. data populates for channels on same transponder). But I think plugin feeds are no longer supported for this older version? Can only see picons and settings in plugins list.



I also tried clean install of 6.5.003. This is sort of working. NOW/NEXT appears in the infobar but not in the channel list


Maybe I have missed something in settings, but I've never seen this behaviour previously with older Openvix images on other boxes (e.g. Zero, Solo4K etc).

I'm presuming that channels are being moved to different transponders and Sky have got it sorted but Freesat haven't caught up yet.

So you don,t use epgimport, crossepg or opentvzapper to update epg?

That's a sort of workaround, but EIT is useful if schedules are updated e.g. Autotimer will recognise the changed schedule.

unzip attachment and copy to /etc/enigma2, let me know if it solves your issue....

Unfortunately, this problem with missing EIT data on newer firmware is occuring with all channels (FTA and encrypted), not just CH4.

I'm not seeing this problem at all, except on one transponder (which is used by CH4). Just for clarity - please confirm you are using satellite (Freesat/Sky transponders), not Freeview which is the terrestrial service.

I'm using AutoBouquetsMaker (ABM) to create separate Freesat and Sky bouquets. I only see the missing EIT issue on the Freesat bouquet because it is picking up the transponder lists from the Freesat home transponder. The Sky bouquet and EPG are ok. So, I'm inferring that the Vix software is ok and it is a broadcast issue causing this problem.

I just re-ran ABM for the Sky and Freesat bouquets. As far as I can see, it's only the 10714H transponder that is missing EIT now/next and EPG data for some services. The Freesat home transponder doesn't seem to have been updated yet, so some of the +1 services for the C4 family are pointing at the new service IDs but the EIT data and channel names haven't been updated yet. Have a look at the screenshot below and you can see that ABM has the service IDs in place of actual channel name for C4+1, E4+1, 4seven. The service ID instead of name for More4+1 was showing yesterday and no now/next or EPG data yesterday but is ok today, so the broadcaster (or RedBee) has not updated the tables yet for the remaining channels. There are many changes happening with transponders at the moment as ITV are closing down their remaining SD channels, so bound to be some disruptions. So I'm just looking at EIT only. I did clean reinstall of 6.6.007 and there is no EIT data showing on any channel/transponder if you flick through the channels, regardless if FTA or encrypted e.g. BBC One London, Sky Family, Sky Family HD, Sky News etc

Ok - apologies; there must be some issue with the release version, apart from what I'm seeing with C4+1 channels. I'm using a newer development version for testing purposes where problems show up before affecting the user base. I've pm'd @twol to see what the issue is.

Ok - I was able to recreate your issue on 6.6.007 Release version. Only if I did a clean install with no restore of any settings (as you stated in your first post!). I did an enigma scan of 28.2 and no EIT data was populated. Only when I restored my settings was the EIT working again. So it seems that the default release build was missing a file. Thanks for the report and @twol will sort the next build.

For info, even with the whitelist uploaded, still seeing 'odd' behaviour. For Thats TV2, the programme times are appearing on 1st infobar, as well as the programme description on second infobar.


But on Thats TV1, the programme times are absent and only the programme description is appearing


And if it's any help in finding the problem, my experience testing different image versions:

6.3.007 - EIT working 100%
6.5.003 - EIT partly working
6.6.007 - EIT broken

61/2 months ago an issue was raised for some European services where the EPG data was invalidated or corrupted. As a result, the code was extensively reworked and (amongst other changes) a whitelist was introduced to allow defined services to override the existing epg data.
There is an an eitconfig systemplugin which can be downloaded to create the whitelist - by clicking on a bouquet you can add a specifc service or all services from a service provider e.g. bskyb.
The supplied whitelist is for bskyb provided services.

@twol - thanks for update. I don't actually recall seeing anything posted about the whitelist so I'm assuming the EIT data just works for those of us using bouquets? It's only an issue if you download clean (no settings restore) and don't use one of the usual EPG import options? And it's only relevant for satellite? My local terrestrial EPG is sourced only from EIT now/next/schedule data and it's fine.

I believe it was in the release update news but in reality most people have obviously not been impacted or we would have had other posts….. and the changes were necessary to resolve quite a few issues in very old code.

I pm'd you separately on this. I assumed most GB/Ireland users weren't impacted as there is a high proportion of DVB-T/2 and also most are using Freesat/Open EPG providers.
