VU+ DUO 4KSE 2x DVB-C/T2 Tuners - but one not working

there is no warranty seal on that box. Just open and look if everything is seeted properly.

Turns out this may have been a good idea. Lid off, tuner modules swapped and carefully reseated. Powered up and all is working again.
I tried recording 3 and watching a 4th, all on different multiplexes. No problems seen.

I'll keep all as is for a few days just to see if any problems crop up, but I'm hoping there won't be any.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Spoke too soon. The problem has come back, this time now showing up on tuner 1 A&B after the tuner module swap.
After a couple of reboots I managed to disable tuner 1 (was tuner 2) and the box is working again, but only with 1 tuner module, now tuners C&D

My thoughts now are that the module that was in tuner 2 position is faulty. I can't figure out what else it could be. The o/s can clearly see and properly address both tuner modules, but only one is responding (working) properly, long term, in either position, so probably not the main system board.
The fact that the tuner module worked properly for around one hour indicates to me a dodgy component or solder joint.

What am I missing?

You could remove module you suspect of being fine and just use the one that you suspect is faulty. It should exhibit the fault in whichever slot you its inserted in.

you should be able to see the specifications off the modules and are they the same ?

That's effectively what I already did, and the fault followed the module when I swapped them over. I thought keeping both modules in the box might help prove a driver issue, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I am pretty certain the problem is a faulty tuner module, but how can I get this resolved?

Would WOS be willing to send a replacement?

2nd support ticket opened.

Support not willing to send a replacement tuner module, even though its pretty obviously just a faulty module. I have to return the complete unit, so further delays and setup time will ensue, including backup and restore of recordings and settings made so far.

It's now more than 3 months since my order was placed. The fault was present on receipt, but not noticeable until more than 2 tuners used, and the box has been powered up, usually for more than a couple of hours.

The 1st support ticket response said that it's very unlikely to be a hardware fault, and to post on the support forum. Sometimes it felt like quite a struggle getting anywhere here too.

Even so, I'd like to thank everyone for their help, especially Abu Baniaz.

I hope my experience with WOS is not common.

Cheers

Hi all.

The Vu+ arrived back from WOS two days ago. I've been using it since, including recording from 4 separate mux's.

I'm pleased to report that it is now working flawlessly. Stef identified and replaced the faulty tuner module, so a big thankyou to him!

So case closed.

Cheers.
