This crash is caused because you are testing a file from the "python3" branch in the Dev build.

Just using the file in post #16, no mention of branches, although I did say I was using the latest dev build when reporting the yellow button crash.

The file posted will work with my image, not Dev. I supplied you that image so you can keep in step with current development.
 
What's "my image", if I may be so bold?
 
Short blue works with 6.1.000.000 (Dev), 6.0.009.001 (Dev) and 6.0.008 (Rel), all couch flashed with settings restores.

Adding the InfoBarGenerics.py download in post #16 and short blue crashes all 3.

Which ViX version does work with the download, as I haven't a clue.

InfoBarGenerics.py in the Python3 and Dev-python3-compatible branches are the same at the moment, so I've edited the file as indicated above...

Yes that's sorted it, yellow with "no free tuner!" or "Service unavailable!" on screen now enters epg search (with nothing found), and a new search from there works ok.

Blue still ok for extensions.

This was on 6.0.009.001 (Dev).

If that except clause is activated the next line will try to use name before it is set.

I've said before that I haven't a clue what I'm talking about, and as there've been no replies, I'll continue to prove it.

The fnc commit from 23 days ago is in the python3 branch. https://github.com/OpenViX/enigma2/commit/c1daa54447d2d6cb23d9383706ed511356d29e35

I can't find it in the Dev-python3-compatible branch, lib/python/Plugins/Plugin.py is 11 month old.

The blue button crash in 6.0.009.001 (Dev) is fixed if I re-add the fnc commit from the python3 branch. I'd have thought it should already be in ??????

InfoBarGenerics.py is dependant on Plugin.pyc existing when recompiling. Not sure if that might be significant, as changing them both at the same time doesn't work.

The yellow button crash still needs name initialising at some point in the code.
