hi guys,

everty time i mount the HDD using Network browser, the green tick shows [i have tried using replace as HDD as well]. i can see it listed in the mnt folder in th e media player. however, when i try to record, it says the HDD is not there.

am i missing summit?

is this an interanal HD or external via sata connection, or usb? or a network HD?
I take it, you have innialized the HD via the menu on the unit

Also to record to it needs to be formatted as ext3/4 have you done this?

some people find it easier to load the offitial image from Vu to the box to initialize the HDD, then reload VIX and go from there.

personally i have never had such a problem with my uno and VIX as the HDD worked strait from the box for me and initialized first time in VIX.

sure it is... i done it just about a month ago, what it will not tell you is WHEN it been initialised, thats when you go and look into the installation path, or just try and record something when you think its all been initialised??

there is def no options for "harddisk" on the VIX 2.2 menus.

any other ideas chaps?

i think there may have been a fault on the HDD. I was helping Chadda and we inserted a 16GB USB stick then rebooted and the harddisk option became available.

there was no option to initialise the HDD but it could be mounted - wierd.

Cheers for the input guys
