I have one satellite tuner tuned to UK FreeSat and three terrestrial tuned to UK FreeView. I use the web based EPG to program up the week's recordings on Saturday mornings. The EPG is buggy but I can work around the bugs, until today.

If I look at today or tomorrow all is fine. If I look at other days, entire channels are missing from the EPG. Earlier today if I looked at Monday, BBC One HD and BBC Two HD were missing. Now they are back. However if I look at Tuesday, ITV HD is missing. It's back for Wednesday and Thursday but missing again on Friday. On Wednesday and Thursday ITV2 and ITV3 are present but show no data after 09:35. On Friday ITV3 is missing.

The on-screen EPG behaviour depends on the channel I'm tuned to. If I select BBC One HD FreeSat then I see nothing for ITV HD FreeView for Tuesday. However if I tune to that channel then the EPG for Tuesday is populated.

Do I need a factory reset? I've not made any changes for five months or so, in fact the box has been left on pretty much all that time.

OK so I upgraded to the latest build with no settings restore and set up from scratch. I'm not seeing any missing channels or missing programmes any more BUT I am having timer clash problems. Trying to record a few programmes in the 8:00 to 10:00 pm slot tonight brings up the warning from the web interface. It's as if the EPG doesn't know which channels can be recorded by which tuners.

For example I have Partners In Crime set to record on BBC One HD Freesat 21:00 to 22:00 but when I try to record Horizon on BBC Four HD FreeView from 20:00 to 21:00 it reports a clash and Partners In Crime is listed as one of the clashing programmes. How can this be when it is being recorded on a different tuner? I can make the clash go away by changing the end time from 21:05 to 21:00.

I can't remember ever having a timer clash when I was using Apollo.

Have you checked the timers list in case there is another one in there?

Also both tuners set up properly?

Even weirder - I waited 30 minutes and tried again and this time no clash warnings!

Now having clash problems again. I'm trying to record four programmes, all on FreeView and I'm getting a clash warning. One is on ITV3 which is the COM4 mux, one is on ITVHD which is PSB3 and the other two are adjacent programmes on BBC4HD which is COM7. Padding means the adjacent programmes will both be recording at once but still only one tuner is needed. I have three DVB-T2 tuners so I can't see why I am getting clashes. It's as if the box thinks I only have two tuners. Everything looks fine and I've done a scan with all four tuners and the three DVB-T2 ones all find the same number of channels.

Some comments about some points in your posts.

Generally speaking, EPG data can come from an internet daatbase or can come from the "stream", i.e transmission signal cable. There is some EPG data which needs plugins to download it from the stream, e.g Cross EPG downloader with OpenTV EPG providers. You have not mentioned what settings you are using for acquiring the EPG data.

A channel with the same name, showing the same program at the same time, is not the same service.

EPG data for Terrestrial in the UK and Freesat is downloaded whilst you are on the channel. There is an option for Freesat in the EPG menu, this is on by default. The Freesat EPG is downloaded at trickle speed on the majority of channels. There is a transponder which is super charged. Sorry, I cannot remember which one it is. You will have to search through Fat Tony's posts for the the details. I recall him posting the details. You can set up EPG refresh plugin to zap to any channel on that transponder. Alternatively, you can use Cross EPG downloader for 28.2 openTV EPG. This will also work.

If you want to have full EPG data for Terrestrial channels, you will have to set up EPG refresh plugin to zap to a Terrestrial service everyday for approximately 3 minutes. You can also set a zap/record timer if you don't want to use EPG refresh plugin.

You do not set a recording by a channel. You set a recording against a service. The receiver select the tuner depending on the recording preferences. If none are set, it uses the defaults.

There are set times to record prior and after a recording, padding which you mention. These are added to cater for some overruns. Believe it or not, some providers are not very punctual. Defaults are 3 minutes before and 5 minutes after. You can change these if you want. There will still be a split second overlap. Shame recordings don't start at 1 second past the minute.

Channel data is shared across all tuners that can use the service. There is no need to scan on all tuners of the same type other than to confirm reception issues.
