Many thanks for your help, I haven't posted anything for some years on here so was not sure what section to post in. The file was down loaded over wifi and had gone through all checks and invited me to flash the machine (done it many times over the past 10 odd years) this started but froze as soon as the Openvix screen appeared. I have since tried a USB image, the stick is not read from any port. I had flashed 001 image via the USB stick as I was many versions behind and had not checked for updates for probably half a year. I have only 1 USB stick that the machine has liked for the past half dozen years so have not got a choice to use. I have not had LAN connection to the box for over half a year. With the advance of faster broadband and many years of problems with Wifi (legacy smart connections) and mobile phone signal due to house materials construction and the position of services entrance decided to upgrade the house to an ASUS smart home mesh system (tri band,wifi7,10Gbps ready system) which has solved all my problems with even signal in my garden! (Hope this answers why I have not got LAN)(The wired system was over 20 years old, old wire) I have not tried a LAN connection as I have not got the capability to do so now, but logically I can't see that doing anything now that I have got the problem. I updated from version 001 to 002 only because I happen to see it there and thought that I should keep my machine up to date. I had forgotten webif, I've now tried it but the box is not detected, although I can see the address in my ASUS software. Again thanks for your input.
