Hi Guys,

I seem also to be having this problem, but 10 evenings reflashing image and trying every conceivable settling and tuner configuration has me scratching my head.

It all started when I really stupidly thought it would be nice to try the latest Vix image......

I had all the channels before, new flashed Image and I can only find 11 channels (6 of which are Channel 4). The quality of the signal is great and nothing has changed with the hardware.

I've never been able to connect it to the internet so any options I have are limited to USB stick and scans...

VU+duo (quite old one) with motorised positioner

What can I do?

My only option seems to be to go an buy something else... which I don't really want to do...!

Another option would be to go back to the old image that used to work. If you made a backup of that image then quite easy, otherwise download the old version again.
Not ideal but could get you up and running again.

True, no idea which Image it was, but I wanted to update as issues had appeared (vix logo spinning when trying to record from a transponder not being currently viewed). Blocking the whole system.
I'm looking for old images, but can only find recent ones...

Try here: http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php/downloads/vu-plus-images/vu-duo/vu-duo-openvix-archives/

I'd probably try the latest in each major version as a starting point. Until very recently my box only worked properly on 4.1.016.

Thanks very much for that - I have flashed an ancient version I found on my pc... al channels restored...

I will try some more recent versions and see... At least I know it is 100% an image issue :)

Thanks!

If it is an image issue, everyone would be experiencing the problem.

You said you tried everything, that is rather vague. Im guessing you scanned a single transponder only.

... I reckon he's using satellite.

I've tried everything I can think of.. true, I'm a little vague, but honestly can't begin to list everything I've tried over the last couple of weeks... and since I really don't have a very tech based brain I do struggle to explain stuff... :sofahide:

I was scanning single satellite (rather than single transponder) - but have found that it may be some sort of corruption as my single satellite scans on the other images I've flashed so far have been working... :D

I'm going to try downloading and flashing the latest image again to see if it works

Thanks for the support (especially as I do feel as if I'm mister thickie...!)

The correct tuner configuration is one that matches the hardware attached to the tuner.

You can start by describing the imag eyou have. Lates means nothing, they have version numbers.

You can then describe the hardware connected to tuner A. Include switches splitters, motors, faceplates.
In a different sentence/paragraph, describe the hardware connected to tuner B.

In a different paragraph, describe the software configuration of tuner A. Posting screenshots would be better.
In a different sentence/pragraph, do the same for Tuner B.
(Some people bundle everything together and it is very hard to correctly decipher what they have connected to each and every tuner and what the corresponding tuner configuration is.

You don't need to be technical, just in plain and coherent terms, describe things. Answer the specific questions. If you don't want to answer, say so instaed of doing something else. People will be expecting you to follow some specific tasks in the thread. If you decide to do something else, without saying so, it's your loss.
