Looking for a replacement for my aged vu+ duo2

Hi all, my vu+ duo2 has started playing up, so I've started looking at finding a new replacement. As things have moved on since i purchased the duo2 I wonder if someone would be kind enough to advise on the best models to consider. The only must haves are x2 sat tuners, large hdd, excellent performance. Is Enigma2 still the best option? If I can reuse the satellite and terrestrial tuner cards in my current duo2 then that would be good. Also, are there any new features I need to know about since the duo2 first appeared? The Solo 4K which itself is old and an Ultimo 4K have one tuner slot for the legacy tuner cards.

Most new receivers only have space for 2.5" HDDs.

Many thanks for the responses. Which are the top brands to look at nowadays in terms of support and reliability? When I bought the duo2 several yrs ago vu+ was highly rated.

still the same now.I found a brand new vu duo 4KSE and wonderfull box with 4 tuners and HDD 2 TB and external DVB-C tuner.Works fast under openvix. Repaired the duo 2 condensor problem and use it as slave box.Cost a few euro's with better condensors.Repair time a little hour.

The issue I have is that one of the displays has stopped working, ie the one on the right, the colour display on the left is fine. Issue means if I do a usb update I don't see the message to press the little button to proceed with update. As it's quite old now I've decided it is time to upgrade to a newer model.

is a setting that changed not a box problem. Updated my duo 2 yesterday to 6.8 and had the same problem.Changed setting and again oke but went back to 6.7 because streaming was to slow on channel changing in 6.8

Vu is still highly rated. Also look at GB Quad Pro.

Thanks for quick response, I did check settings as I thought it might be that, but settings seem OK, ie not disabled? Can you tell me which setting needed changing?

Hi, new problem this morning, the duo2 won't boot up, white led flashing rapidly, no fan noise or hdd spin noise. Tried usb boot but no difference, ie just flashing led. Is it the dreaded capacitor problem? If so, I don't think I can repair myself

Thanks for link to capacitor repair, I think I will try to fix as it seems not too difficult, I found the capacitors on ebay, I'll buy and try the repair, many thanks!

take capacitors for 35 volts. Wuth a photo I can see iff more capacitors are defect cause I changed the little one under the 2 also

Do you mean 35 volts instead of 25 volts?
