OpenViX 6.9 Release discussion thread

OK. They are your icons, I just inverted the colours in Gimp to make a dark version for gintarasarm or anyone who wants to use them. I prefer the dark version myself.

I've added all the files I use to tweak the newer version of the Simple Ten Eighty theme.

Looks like this.

@thecaretaker, Thank you very much for your help but owever, there’s no need for you to create icons for me, as I make them by myself by the way, the background you’re using for the icons is far too black try using the me background from post #95 and here are a few my icons you try could using these my icons in the image and to see which background look better

@thecaretaker, What is the skin_user_Simple_Ten_Eighty.xml file, and what does it do? Could it be for ensuring that all icons are fully displayed for IPTV channels ( maybe it could be the same way icons are displayed on satellite channels )? Did I understand that correctly?

@Orlandox, Thank you very much for your response, in the latest posts in this thread, we were discussing icons and their backgrounds @thecaretaker shared some icons along with a file called skin_user_Simple_Ten_Eighty.xml, that is why I asked what purpose this file serves if I want to modify or fix the icons or their backgrounds? Personally, I don’t need this file at all, as I already know where the icons are located, how to edit them, and where to put them back, after all, it is much easier to modify the icons themselves (provided they are in PNG format) than it is to edit or rewrite the `skin_user_Simple_Ten_Eighty.xml` file

The file is a user file to modify the xml. Because it lives in /etc/enigma2 it is added to the backup, and restored. Same with the icons, they can also be save in /etc/enigma2.

@Orlandox , Thank you very much I’ve taken another look at your icons they certainly look attractive but the background color still isn’t quite right I’m providing my own icons, which feature the background that (in my opinion ) should be used for the OpenVIX image please take a close look and compare my version with yours also, please don’t mind the fact that the names of the audio tracks aren’t fully written to check them and Thank you so much for your advice!

I confess, I didn't realise that by placing the image folders and user xml file in /etc/enigma2 that they were backed up. Saves me adding the files to the Simple_Ten_Eighty every update. Still learning. So I've added all the images needed in the egp, infobar and windows folders for the FTA version I posted earlier if anybody wants to try it out. Just pop them in /etc/enigma2 and reboot (y)
